Shared Foundation — The WordPress Core Understanding

This foundation course is the starting point of the WordPress Career Program and is designed to give every student a clear mental model of how the web and WordPress actually work. Before building websites, designing layouts, or writing code, you will understand servers, domains, hosting environments, databases, and how a browser communicates with a website. Many beginners struggle in WordPress not because it is difficult, but because they don’t understand what is happening behind the screen — this course fixes that.

You will install WordPress locally and on live hosting, learn the difference between staging and production, and understand how WordPress core, themes, plugins, and the database cooperate to render a page. We will also cover website safety, backups, updates, migrations, and troubleshooting. By the end of this course, WordPress will no longer feel like a “tool” you click randomly — it will become a system you understand and control.
